IRELAND v AUSTRALIA FREE BETTING PREVIEW Ireland followed up their superb 29-15 victory over South Africa with a thrashing of Georgia
last weekend, resting most of their front-line players ahead of the visit of Australia. Improving further upon his first year in charge of the Ireland setup, Joe Schmidt's 2014 has been even more impressive, with a 13-10 loss to England in this year's Six Nations the only defeat to speak of.
Schmidt makes two changes from the side that beat South Africa. Fit again hooker Rory Best returns to the side to win his 78th cap, with the explosive Sean Cronin dropping to the bench. With Jared Payne injured, the experienced Gordon D'Arcy will start at 12 with Robbie Henshaw shifting to outside-centre. Leinster forward Mike McCarthy has also been ruled out with a concussion suffered against Georgia. Despite the many absentees, Paul O’Connell, Jamie Heaslip, Conor Murray, Jonathan Sexton and Rob Kearney will give Ireland an enviably strong spine.
Australia suffered their first loss of the spring tour and first under new coach Michael Cheika, going down to France 29-26 in Paris. Anyway, they beat Wales 33-28 in their first Autumn Internationals fixture.
oach Michael Cheika has made four changes to his team. Sam Carter, back-row Luke Jones and centre Matt Toomua come into the starting XV. Fijian-born winger Henry Speight will become the third player to make his debut on this month's European tour. Joe Tomane, James Horwill, Sean McMahon and Christian Lealiifano have all been dropped.
Ireland are twelve months further down the development line than Australia is. The Aussies were comfortable winners here 12 months ago and scored 32 points in the process, but this time it could be another story. Anyway, the Wallabies haven't lost two consecutive Tests on a spring tour since 2005
