Hoffenheim v Manchester City betting preview
Hoffenheim find themselves in a lowly 12th place after six rounds in BundesligaHoffenheim have struggled for consistency this season as they they have collected only seven points out of a possible eighteen. Die Kraichgauer have also scored 12 goals in these seven matches whilst conceding 12 A 3-1 at Hannover was followed by a 2-1 home defeat against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday. In Champions League, Julian Nagelsmann's men drew 2-2 with Shakhtar Donetsk in their opening clash. As a result, they have only won one of their last five outings in all competitions.
Hoffenheim have a number of injury concerns. Nagelsmann will be sweating on the fitness of captain Kevin Vogt as other central defenders - Ermin Bicakcic, Havard Nordveit and Benjamin Hubner are all doubtful. Furthermore, Kasim Nuhu has picked up an ankle problem while Benjamin Hubner, Lukas Rupp and Dennis Geiger are also carrying injuries. Kerem Demirbay made his first appearance of the season at the weekend but he is likely to be benched again.
Manchester City have won three consecutive matches without concedingManchester City surprisingly find themselves playing catch-up in Champions League Group F after a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Lyon in the first matchday. The Citizens recorded a routine 3-0 win over Fulham last weekend, reclaiming top spot after Chelsea's dramatic draw with Liverpool. Prior to that, Pep Guardiola's men recorded a 5-0 over Cardiff City and 2-0 against Brighton in the EPL either side of a 3-0 win at Oxford United in the League Cup. As a result, Man City have kept three consecutive clean sheets.
Sergio Aguero is still not 100% fit due to a foot injury and could be replaced by Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian is likely to be flanked by Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sanè, with Raheem Sterling viable alternative. With Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph both doubts, Oleksandr Zinchenko could retain his place at left-back, and Danilo is an option on the right if Guardiola feels the need to leave out Kyle Walker. In midfield, David Silva and Bernardo Silva will partner Fernandinho as Ilkay Gundogan should be rested. Kevin De Bruyne is back in training but this match may come too soon for the midfielder. Claudio Bravo and Eliaquim Mangala remain long term absentees with fairly serious knee injuries.
