Lampard has confirmed that Christian Pulisic will be in the squad for this match - probably on bench - while Hakim Ziyech is expected to be fit only after the international break. Edouard Mendy is expected to make his Premier League debut while Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have been linked with moves away before the transfer deadline, and are expected to miss out.
Crystal Palace have won their opening two fixtures over Southampton (1-0) and Manchester United (1-3 away) but suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Everton last time out. The victory at Old Trafford was a huge surprise as Roy Hodgson's men lost their final four away games of last season without scoring. The Eagles are backable at 7/1 to beat the Blues with Bet365, or 39/10 to force a stalemate.
Michy Batshuayi is unable to face his parent club. As a result Wilfried Zaha and Jordan Ayew will lead the line, supported by Eberechi Eze and Andros Townsend out wide. Christian Benteke provides a further option. Jeffrey Schlupp and Nathan Ferguson remain unavailable and while Gary Cahill, James Tomkins and Patrick van Aanholt have all made a return to training this week, but will sit on the bench at maximum.
Crystal Palace (4-4-2): Guaita; Ward, Kouyate, Sakho, Mitchell; Townsend, McCarthy, McArthur, Eze; Ayew, Zaha
