Chelsea vs Manchester UTD betting preview
Chelsea are unbeaten in their 11 competitive matches so far this seasonChelsea have taken 20 points from a possible 24 under Maurizio Sarri in the Premier League and are second to Liverpool and Man City only on goal difference. Before the international break, Sarri's men were extremely impressive by winning away at Southampton (0-3). The Blues have not lost at home to United since October 2012, losing just two of the 16 meetings between the two since then. The game is a repeat of last season’s FA Cup final, from which the Blues emerged victorious courtesy of a Hazard penalty.
Antonio Rudiger is a doubt after withdrawing from Germany's squad during the international break while Ethan Ampadu is definetely out. Sarri has a fairly settled starting XI at the moment and the Italian manager is not expected to tinker with it. Willan and the in-form Eden Hazard will flank Olivier Giroud up front, while the likes of N'Golo Kantè, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho will play in midfield. Alvaro Morata is a viable alternative in attack, as well as Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the middle of the park. The only change in defense could see Gary Cahill or Andreas Christensen replacing Rudiger.
Man United will be desperate to get their season back on trackDespite a huge comeback victory over Newcastle before the international break, Josè Mourinho is still under pressure at Old Trafford as his team sit in eighth position, seven points adrift of the top. Furthermore, Stamford Brige has quickly become a very unhappy hunting ground for the Portuguese manager in charge of Manchester United - he has lost all three away games against the Blues to date. Defensively, the Reds are the 10th best team in league having conceded 14 goals in just 8 matches.
Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic withdrew from the England and Serbia squads respectively and are major doubts. Ander Herrera has returned to training during the international break but is likely to sit on bench. This leaves Mourinho with very few options in midfield, since Scott McTominay is not 100% fit. Jesse Lingard and Marcos Rojo are also back in training – but only the former is in contention to return to action on Saturday. He should complete the front trio with Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. The likes of Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford provide further options upfront.
