CHELSEA v HULL CITY BETTING PREVIEW
Chelsea bounced back from their first loss in 13 matches - a 2:0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham - with a win over Leicester last weekend. The Blues have won 14 of their last 15 league matches and top the table with a 7 point gap over the Spurs and Liverpool. Furthermore, Chelsea have won the last five direct encounters with Hull City (all in the Premier League) and have kept clean sheets in four of those five victories.
Diego Costa has been passed fit and is back in contention following his absence at Leicester City last weekend with a back injury, meaning that Chelsea's boss Antonio Conte could field his usual starting XI. Anyway, Pedro and Willian are in contention for a starting berth up front as well as Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas in midfield. John Terry is also available after serving a suspension for his FA Cup red card.
Hull City showed signs of promise in Marco Silva's first real outingm in charge after they came from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-1 last weekend. Prior to that, they lost the EFL Cup semifinal first leg against Manchester United at Old Trafford (2:0). The Tigers have the worst record on the travels and they have lost their last 8 away matches.
Hull City head coach Marco Silva isn’t expected to make many changes for the trip to Stamford Bridge although new signings Oumar Niasse and Evandro may be pushing for a start. David Meyler and Shaun Maloney should be fine to feature while Robert Snodgrass hasn't managed to train this week due to a muscle injury. The back four of Harry Maguire, Michael Dawson, Curtis Davies and Andrew Robertson may well remain unchanged, while Tom Huddlestone and Ryan Mason appear probable starters in the middle of the park. Markus Henriksen is ruled out for 2-3 months with a dislocated shoulder. Moses Odubajo, Alex Bruce, Will Keane and Greg Luer all remain sidelined, while Ahmed Elmohamady and Dieumerci Mbokani are away on international duty.
