MIDDLESBROUGH v CHELSEA BETTING PREVIEW
Middlesbrough have earned two impressive draws against Arsenal and Manchester City in their last three matches with a 2-0 home win against Bournemouth sandwiched between them. They currently sit 15th in the league standings with 11 points from the first 11 fixtures.
Middlesbrough can welcome back Gaston Ramirez as he was banned last time out. The Uruguayan should play as offensive wing in a 4-5-1 formation. Alvaro Negredo is expected to continue as the lone striker. Christian Stuani, Jordan Rhodes and Viktor Fischer provide further options in attack. George Friend has emerged as an early doubt after picking up a knee problem during training this week. Should he be ruled out, Fabio de Silva may push for a start, or Antonio Barragan could switch to left-back, with Emilio Nsue coming in at right-back.
Chelsea, with 26 points, are only a point behind the division leaders, Liverpool and they can leapfrog the Reds who drew at Southampton on Saturday. The Blues earned a thumping 5-0 win at home against Everton before the International break to make it 5 straight wins. They have scored a whopping sixteen goals, while not conceding a single goal in the process.
Diego Costa was forced to withdraw from the Spain squad with a groin injury and is a doubt here. Eden Hazard was forced off midway through Belgium's match but he is expected to feature. Antonio Conte will no doubt be looking to play with a three-man backline and Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta are expected to start. Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses should continue in the wing-back positions, while Pedro looks set to keep his place on the right of the front three.
