ARSENAL v SUNDERLAND BETTING PREVIEW
Arsenal have won five of their last six league outings but they will need rivals to drop points if they are to secure a top four finish in the Premier League. The Gunners' late charge for a Champions League spot continued on Saturday when they beat Stoke 4-1 away from home. This run has seen the Gunners rise up the table and they are now in 5th position, just three points behind Man City and four points behind Liverpool in third, but both Arsenal and City have one game in hand. Wenger's men have lost just one of their last 16 Premier League matches at the Emirates Stadium (W12 D3 L1) and have never lost a home Premier League match against Sunderland (W10 D5 L0).Alexis Sanchez is a doubt with a groin problem suffered last time out. Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also doubtful, meaning that Hector Bellerin could start as wing back on the right flank with Nacho Monreal on the opposite side. Aaron Ramsey is expected to feature form the off in midfield, alongside Granit Xhaka. Up front, Danny Welbeck could start in behind Olivier Giroud should Sanchez miss out.
Sunderland already know they will be playing in the Championship next season but they have already played the role of spoiler once by beating Hull City 2-0 two weeks ago. That surprising victory at the KCOM Stadium is their only Premier League victory in their last 12 outings. The disappointment was clear to see when they went 2-0 down to Swansea on Saturday. Furthermore, the Black Cats have failed to score in 10 of their last 12 fixtures and have failed to win their last six visits to the Emirates, losing four.
Victor Anichebe and Jason Denayer were both forced off last time out and will be assessed closer to kick off, as well as Lee Cattermole and Steven Pienaar. Up front, Jermain Defoe is expected to spearhead the attack, with Fabio Borini and Wahbi Khazri on his flanks. In defense, the likes of Lamine Konè, John O'Shea, Javier Manquillo and Billy Jones will form the four man backline. Paddy McNair, Duncan Watmore, Jan Kirchhoff and Bryan Oviedo remain out due to injury.
