TOTTENHAM v BORUSSIA DORTMUND BETTING PREVIEW 

Tottenham qualified for the competition by finishing runners-up in last season’s Premier League campaign. Pochettino's men, who won just two of their six UEFA Champions League group stages games last term, have won just one of their last ten at Wembley. They were beaten by Chelsea (1-2) and drew 1-1 against Burnley this season - conceding last minute goals to both - but returned to winning ways at the weekend as they defeated 3-0 Everton at Goodison Park. The Lilywhites need a strong start in the Group of Death if they want to maintain any hope of progressing to the knockout stages.

The hosts will have to make do without Dele Alli, who is banned for three matches, while Victor Wanyama is out injured. Mauricio Pochettino is likely to field a 3-5-1-1 starting formation, with Son Heung Min supporting Harry Kane up front and Serge Aurier and Ben Davies playing as wing backs. The likes of Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier are expected to start in midfield, with Harry Winks providing a viable option. The three man backline will be formed by new signing Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.



Dortmund won the first three Bundesliga games without conceding but were held to a 0-0 draw at Freiburg at the weekend. Prior to that, they were somewhat unfortunate to lose the German Super Cup match to Bayern Munich. BVB are coming from an active summer in the transfer market and will once again have a fully competitive side despite the fact they have sold one of their key players Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona. The German side dominated Spurs over both legs in the Europa League last March and will be confident of repeating that performance once more. Anyway, the German outfit has lost four of the last seven Champions League matches on the road.

BVB Boss Peter Bosz has serious selection problems as Julian Weigl, Raphael Guerreiro, Erik Durm, Marc Bartra, Sebastian Rode, Marcel Schmelzer, Marco Reus and Andre Schurrle are definitely out. Omer Toprak should come in at centre-back alongside Sokratis, but other than that, Bosz is unlikely to make too many changes here. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to spearhead the attack with Christian Pulisic and Maximilian Philipp on his flanks. The likes of Gonzalo Castro, Nuri Sahin and Mario Gotze are expected to start in the middle of the park.
