REAL MADRID v CHELSEA BETTING PREVIEWThis will only be Real Madrid’s second pre-season game so far. They started off their International Champions Cup on a poor note when they were beaten 3-1 by PSG on Wednesday. The only goal for Real Madrid in that game was scored by Marcelo on a penalty. Los Galacticos are the favorites to win this clash but Chelsea have started their preparation a couple of week before the current European Champions.
Zinedine Zidane fielded a relatively strong side against PSG and a number of academy players during the second half - including the teen sensation Martin Odegaard and his son Enzo Zidane. Former Mallorca midfielder Marco Asensio was particularly impressive and the 20-year-old is likely to start. Raphael Varane, Marcelo, Casemiro and newly-returned Alvaro Morata are expected to start again while Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are notable absences. The likes of Luca Modric, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Sergio Ramos and Pepe are still on extended holidays.
The 1-0 win against Liverpool is certainly a morale boosting victory for Chelsea as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Rapid Wien and beat Wolfsberger AC 3-0 in the first two friendlies of the season. The Blues still have 2 games to play this summer, which includes games against AC Milan and German side Werder Bremen.
Against the Reds, Conte's team was reduced to 10 men on 72 minutes after Cesc Fabregas was dismissed for a horror tackle on Liverpool centre-back Ragnar Klavan and the Catalan midfielder will now be suspended for Saturday’s match. Newcomers to the team Cuadrado and Batshuayi had their first minutes last time out. John Obi Mikel, who has been called up to play for Nigeria in the Olympics, and N’golo Kante who has been given an extended holiday, will miss the match.
