Substitutes Francisco Conceição and Vitinha overturned a one-goal deficit to book their berth in the Nations League final. Cristiano Ronaldo extended his record as the all-time leading scorer in international football with his 137th goal.
Spain are the current holders of the trophy defeating Croatia on penalties in 2023. Luis de la Fuente’s men also won the Euros and are arguably the best national team at the moment. La Roja produced a stunning display in the semifinal, edging out France with a thrilling 5-4. They were leading 5-1 at some stage but almost surrendered a 4 goal-advantage in the final minutes. Spain have not lost a competitive fixture since the defeat away to Scotland in March 2023.
