After years of talking the mega fight will finally see Floyd Mayweather put his WBC and WBA welterweight titles on the line against Manny Pacquiao's WBO at the MGM Grand

WBA and WBC welterweight Mayweather is now 38 years old and is still unbeaten  in 47 fights - his record stretches back to 1996 - and he has won his past five bouts on points, most recently a rematch with Marcos Maidana in September. Maidana gave him absolute hell in the first fight but Mayweather won the second fight in a comfortable way.

Floyd is more accurate and is renowned for his great movement, a factor that his oppenent may suffer. Furthermore,  Mayweather is famed for a tactical approach which lets him take charge and fight at his own pace. He has great speed, quickness and endurance making him a very difficult target to hit. But he is less powerful than Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao is now 36 years old and went a bit off the boil a couple of years ago.  His peak was arguably around 2008-2011, in which time he beat Oscar De la Hoya and sparked out Ricky Hatton. The Filipino beat Chris Algieri on a unanimous points decision last November, but lost twice in 2013 - to Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Pac Man is renowned for his relentless pressure and has 38 knockouts in his 57 fights. However since his TKO win against Miguel Cotto in 2009, Pacquiao hasn’t knocked out any of his 9 opponents. He will certainly look to make this match a war and drag Mayweather with him, much like Maidana did.

When Mayweather vs Pacquiao was announced, Floyd opened at a whopping 1/3 favorite (or 1.33). That, of course, didn't stand very long as the Pacquiao money came rolling in, dropping Floyd to a 1/2 (or 1.50) to win the fight. According to our information, bets for Manny Pacquiao on the main online bookmakers outnumber Mayweather nearly 3-to-1 but the money being wagered on Floyd is much higher.

Mayweather Strengths:

Speed, defence, fitness, confidence

Mayweather Weaknesses:

Shaky defense, can be kayoed
