MANCHESTER CITY v TOTTENHAM BETTING PREVIEWManchester City started their pre-season with a 2-0 defeat to local rivals Manchester United in their ICC opener. Anyway, the Citizens bounced back in impression fashion, demolishing Real Madrid 4-1 in their second outing in the tournament with Nicolas Otamendi, Raheem Sterling, John Stones and Brahim Diaz getting the goals.
This match will represent a quick reunion for Kyle Walker, who left Tottenham in a £50 million deal few weeks ago. The likes of Benjamin Mendy, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan are still sidelined while Bernardo Silva and Claudio Bravo have been given an extended break after playing at the Confederations Cup. Wilfried Bony, Kelechi Iheanacho and Fabian Delph are all expected to leave the club during this transfer window and did not travel with the team. Gabriel Jesus is likely to lead the line, with Sergio Aguero initially benched. Phil Foden, who has caught the eye against United and Madrid, may start again.
Tottenham started the tournament with an entertaining 4-2 win against PSG showing some attacking class, expecially from Christian Eriksen. Anyway, Spurs suffered a 3-2 loss to Roma in their second match of the tournament, despite a late revival through goals by Harry Winks and Vincent Janssen. They have spent a total of zero pounds on new players in this transfer window, with their only deal of note being the sale of Kyle Walker.
Coach Mauricio Pochettino is expected send out the more settled side of the two. He is without four injured players - Heung-Min Son, Danny Rose, Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko - but can count on his usual "tridente" with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen supporting Harry Kane up front. Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies are likely yo play as wing backs in the 3-4-3 starting formation while Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyam shuld play in the middle of the park.
