BORUSSIA DORTMUND v REAL MADRID BETTING PREVIEW
Borussia Dortmund have won six of their eight competitive games; scoring a ridiculous amount of goals. Their only slips were a German Super Cup defeat to Bayern Munich and a 1-0 loss at Leipzig in Bundesliga earlier this month. Thomas Tuchel's men enter this match on the back of a 3-1 win over Darmstadt at the weekend and made a good start to their Champions League campaign as they thrashed Polish side Legia Warsaw 6-0 on the matchday 1.Thomas Tuchel have a number of injury concerns. Neven Subotic, Erik Durm, Marco Reus and Sven Bender are all sidelined while Andrè Schurrle is doubtful. Furthermore, he may be forced to field Matthias Ginter at the back with Marc Bartra expected to miss out once again because of injury. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will start as lone striker in the 4-1-4-1 formation, with Julian Wigl deployed as shield in midfield. The likes of Gonzalo Castro, Raphael Guerreiro, Christian Pulisic and Ousmane Dembelè will probably start as offensive midfielders.
Real Madrid were on the verge of breaking the all time record of consecutive La Liga wins last week but they only recorded a 1-1 draw at Villarreal. Furthermore, they also drew with Las Palmas (2:2) last Saturday. The Galacticos remain top of the table in La Liga with 14 points from their six matches. Anyway, Zinedine Zidane’s men needed to rely on very late goals in order to scrape a 2-1 matchday one win at home against Sporting Lisbon in their Champions League.
Keylor Navas is expected to retain his starting berth in goal while Casemiro is sidelined for at least three weeks after breaking his leg against Espanyol. Marco Asensio, Mateo Kovacic, James Rodriguez and Isco are all vying for the third slot in midfield alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. The BBC offensive trio - Bale, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo - will remain unchanged. Defenders Marcelo, Fabio Coentrao, and Pepe are injury concerns.
