DJOKOVIC v FEDERER BETTING PREVIEW

In the first semifinal, Djokovic recovered from a mid-match lapse to beat Kei Nishikori 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 in an hour and 27 minutes. Anyway, the 24-year-old Japanese has suffered with a wrist problem all week, for which he again needed on-court treatment, and the injury may have contributed to his downfall. Prior to this match, Djokovic beat the reigning US Open champion, Marin Cilic, 6-1, 6-1 on Monday, the Australian Open champion Wawrinka 6-3, 6-0 on Wednesday and Tomas Berdych 6-2, 6-2 on Friday.

Roger Federer saved four match points to reach a ninth final at the ATP Finals in a thrilling 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6) win over fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka Saturday in two hours and 48 minutes at The O2 in London. Federer has now saved 11 match points in three winning causes this year, with the others against Gael Monfils at the US Open and Leonardo Mayer at the Shanghai Masters.

The Swiss Maestro beat Milos Raonic 6-1, 7-6 (0) and Kei Nishikori 6-3, 6-2 before knocking Britain’s Andy Murray out of the event 6-0, 6-1. He was yet to drop a set in his first three matches in London.

Federer leads their rivalry 19-17 and triumphed in Shanghai but Djokovic has won their last three finals, including at the Tour Finals in 2012. Furthermore, the world number one has won 31 straight indoor matches.

Federer has the chance to win his seventh ATP title. But regardless of the outcome of the final Djokovic will end the 2014 season ranked number one. If the Serb champion defeats Federer on Sunday, he would become the first man since Ivan Lendl in 1987 to claim three consecutive titles at the elite year-end championships.
