ARSENAL v EVERTON BETTING PREVIEW
Arsenal have rebounded from a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham by recording four straight wins, and the 2-0 midweek victory over Sunderland has left them a point behind Liverpool and three points behind Manchester City in third heading into the final matchweek of the Premier League. They have won six of their last seven league games overall. Arsene Wenger's men are unbeaten in their last six home games, including four wins in a row. Furthermore, they are unbeaten in their last 20 home games against Everton (16 wins, 4 draws).Laurent Koscielny is to undergo a fitness test on Friday, but Aaron Ramsey should be okay to start. The Welshman should replace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who missed the game against Sunderland and will struggle to recover from a hamstring injury in time. Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are expected to keep their places in the advanced midfield positions in the 3-4-2-1 formation. Olivier Giroud has started the last two matches and performed well, but Danny Welbeck may be considered for a recall in the lone striker role.
Everton finally stopped a three-match winless run as they recorded a 1-0 victory over Watford at home. They have nothing to play for given they sit 7th in the league table and cannot move up or down. They have failed to win their last 7 away matches in Premier League and failed to beat the Gunners at Emirates in the last 20 direct encounters. Anyway, the Toffees won the reverse fixture at Goodison Park earlier this season and are looking to do the league double over Arsenal for the first time since the 1985-86 season.
Ronald Koeman is not expected to make any changes from the side that started last time out. The Dutch manager should stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation. As a result, Mason Holgate is likely to start as right-back. Maarten Stekelenburg remains out for the trip to Arsenal, so Joel Robles should retain his place in goal. Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye may again combine in central midfield, with Gareth Barry the main alternative. Ross Barkley, Tom Davies and Kevin Mirallas could start in the attacking midfield positions behind lone striker Romelu Lukaku.
