ARSENAL v DONCASTER BETTING PREVIEW
Arsenal are 12th in the top flight and enter this clash on the back of a good performance against Chelsea in Sunday's 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge. The Gunners looked like a completely different team since they got mauled by Liverpool 4-0 at Anfield just before the international break. Prior to the Chelsea game, Arsene Wenger's men beat 3-1 FC Koln in their Europa League debut.
Arsene Wenger is expected to make wholesale changes. Having given several fringe players a run-out in the 3-1 win against Cologne, it is possible that a similar line-up will be fielded for this game. Per Mertesaker, Rob Holding, Theo Walcott, Mohamed Elneny and starlet Reiss Nelson are all pushing for a start. Jack Wilshere could well make his long overdue return to the Gunners starting line-up after his substitute appearance in the Europa League victory over Koln last week. Up front, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud are likely to feature from the off.
Doncaster are coming on the back of a fiver match win-less run and currently sit 19th in the third tier. The Rovers have scored just one goal in their previous five League One matches and have lost three matches in a row to Northampton, Rochdale and Scunthorpe by a one goal margin. They dumped Hull City out of the competition in the previous round (2-0 away) and drew against Grimsby in the Checkatrade Trophy on August 29th.
Doncaster manager Darren Ferguson has selection headaches for this clash. The son of Sir Alex Ferguson could be without goalkeeper Ross Etheridge, left back Danny Andrew, center back Mathieu Baudry, defensive midfielder Luke McCullough, and right winger Alex Kiwomya due to injuries here. The starting system will be a 4-4-2 in which John Marquis and Alfie May will play up front.
