West Ham v Tottenham betting preview
West Ham have improved recently, losing just one of their last four league gamesWest Ham looked to be back on track after collecting 7 points from nine against Everton, Chelsea and Man UTD but a defeat away to Brighton last time out halted that progress. The Hammers, who lost the first four games in a row, currently sit in 15th-place in the table with five points between them and the relegation zone. Their last home game was a 3-1 victory over the Red Devils but they haven't won consecutive Premier League games at the London Stadium since December 2016. Furthermore, the Hammers are struggling for goals, failing to score in three of their last five games.
Mauricio Pellegrini expects that Marko Arnautovic will be fit to lead the line but Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez are again sidelined for the hosts. Arthur Masuaku, Manuel Lanzini, Chicharito Hernandez, Andy Carroll and Winston Reid are the other notable absences for the Hammers. Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko will start as wingers while Mark Noble, Declan Rice and Pedro Obiang are expected to anchor the midfield. Another option is Robert Snodgrass, who is expected to be available despite withdrawing from the Scotland squad with an injury.
Tottenham come here on the back of three Premier League wins in a rowTottenham have equalled their best-ever start to a Premier League season after taking 18 points from their first eight fixtures. Maurico Pochettino's men have won their last three games in a row and go into this fixture off the back of a narrow win against Cardiff before the break. They have won four of their five Premier League matches on the road thus far and currently sit two points off top spot in 5th position. These two sides met in January this year and only settled for a 1-1 draw.
The likes of Victor Wanyama, Danny Rose, Moussa Dembele and Christian Eriksen are all doubts for the weekend while Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen are both sidelined. Ben Davies could start at left-back with Kieran Trippier on the other side, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez as centre backs. Harry Kane will spearhead the attack, supported by Lucas Moura and Son Heung Min on the flanks. Erik Lamela could replace Eriksen as number ten, while Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are likely replacements should Mousa Dembele miss the match.
