2022/23 Premier League Outright Betting Preview

The 2022/23 Premier League season gets underway on August 5 with Manchester City targeting a third-successive title, finishing with a single point margin over Liverpool.

Anyway, this season will not be like any other. A winter break is required to allow national teams playing the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

It is not yet clear what effect the pause will have on the Premier League title race, but fatigue and eventual injuries to key players could be a factor.

And this could be a decisive factor for the Golden Boot race too as Harry Kane, Son Heung Min, Cristiano Ronaldo, Darwin Nunez and Gabriel Jesus will play in Qatar while Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah will be the only player among the favorites to enjoy the one-month break.

So, let's take a look at the betting markets and outright bets on who will end up at the top of the table, who will be relegated, who will be the Top Scorer and which teams will grab a Top 4 berth.

Premier League predictions

Who will win the 2022/23 Premier League title?

Last season’s Premier League was a thrilling two horse race with Liverpool taking Man City all the way to the final day before finally succumbing.

This year shouldn't be much different, according to the best betting sites.

Manchester City are the defending Premier League Champions and have enjoyed a terrific summer transfer campaign, signing probably the best striker of the world - Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund - a solid midfielder such as Kalvin Phillips and one of the best youngsters around, Julian Alvarez from River Plate.

Raheem Sterling, Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have left the club, but overall the Cityzens look stronger than last season.

Liverpool narrowly missed out on winning the quadruple last season and had to settle for winning the FA Cup and the League Cup.

Jurgen Klopp’s squad has been busy this summer, both in additions and subtractions. The departure of Sadio Manè will be a major blow but the Merseysiders have brought in a top striker such as Darwin Nunez and a young talent such as Fabio Carvalho. The likes of Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi have also left Anfield.

It will be fascinating to see whether that proves to be an upgrade or a downgrade. If the Reds make further additions, especially in midfield, then they certainly have a chance of winning the title.

Behind Manchester City and Liverpool in Premier League odds for the 2022-23 season are the rest of the “Big Six.” But which team can worry Cityzens and Reds?

What about the new Todd Boehly era at Chelsea? Will Mikel Arteta get the best out of his Arsenal players? And can Antonio Conte work his magic on the Tottenham squad?

Chelsea have signed Raheem Sterling from Man City and have revolutioned the backline with the arrival of Kalidou Koulibaly. they are also targeting Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries and Milan Skriniar, as well as Sevilla's Jules Koundè and RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol. The likes of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger left on a free transfer while Romelu Lukaku moved to Inter Milan on loan.

Tottenham have brought in no less than six new players and there is a real feeling of optimism surrounding the club under Antonio Conte. The signings of Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Djed Spence, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster and Clement Lenglet are remarkable boost and Spurs are a well deserved third favorites to win the title.

Arsenal, who finished just two points behind Spurs last season, have also strengthened their front line with the arrival of Gabriel Jesus. Fabio Vieria is another nice addition to a squad that begins a third year under Mikel Arteta and will aim to bridge the gap this season.

Despite finishing sixth last season, there's a lot of hype around Manchester United this year. The Red Devils will be boosted by the start of the Erik Ten Hag era and the arrivals of Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez despite the departures of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard. The way Man UTD hammered Liverpool 4-0 in a preseason friendly was impressive but a title charge would appear to be a little optimistic at present.

2022/23 Premier League Top Four Betting Tips

As you can probably guess, Manchester City and Liverpool are heavy favourites to make the top four at 1/33 and 1/9 with Bet365 and BetUK respectively.

Tottenham and Chelsea both finished in the top four at the end of last season, and we’d certainly back Spurs at 4/5 with VBet considering the presence of manager Antonio Conte since day 1 and the impressive summer transfer campaign.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester UTD will probably fight for the remaining spot, and we would back the Red Devils to pip the other two rivals at 13/8 with Spreadex.

2022/23 Premier League Relegation Betting Tips

A number of teams were lucky to stay in the Premier League last season and the likes of Leeds, Everton and Southampton will be battling relegation once again.

Newly promoted teams Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham are favourites to go down however. We’d certainly back the Cherries to face the drop, while Leeds UTD and Southampton will also find it a struggle this season at 12/5 with Unibet and 10/3 with Betfred respectively.

Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are being tipped to do well, while Brentford could be worth a punt on relegation at 11/4, as well all know how difficult is remaining up for the second straight year.

Everton are at 5/1 to face the drop, which could be interesting given the Toffees finished 16th last season and their best player Richarlison moved to Tottenham.

2022/23 Premier League Top Scorer Tips

JThe race for the 2021/22 Premier League Golden Boot went down to the wire with Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min sharing the award, haivng both scored 23 goals.

This season, new Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is the favorite to finish as the top scorer, but Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane will expect to challenge for the award.

The Norwegian star has joined the Cityzens from Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 83 goals in 87 games. He is expected to adapt perfectly to Pep Guardiola's style of play. Haaland will also be watching the winter World Cup from home after Norway failed to qualify, so he should be fresher (and injury-free) when the Premier League campaign resumes on Boxing Day.

Mo Salah won back to back Golden Boots in 2017/18 and 2018/19 and made a hat-trick last season. Without Sadio Manè, the Reds' offensive production should be lower than last year but the Egyptian remains a scoring machine and will be extra-motivated by the presence of a new competitor such as Erling Haaland.

Harry Kane won the Golden Boot in 2020/21 and finished 4th last season in the Top Goalscorer chart despite an extremely slow start. Under the management of Antonio Conte his scoring average surged and he also was phenomenal as assist-man.

Kane's team-mate Heung Min Son won the Golden Boot thanks to his assists as the English international played more as false nine than central striker since Antonio Conte took charge of the team. We expect the South Korean to have another impressive record and to be a serious contender for a back-to-back Golden Boot title.

New Liverpool signing Darwin Nunez is a big question mark, while Cristiano Ronaldo, Jamie Vardy, and Gabriel Jesus (now a regular starter at Arsenal) could be the surprise packages in this special market.
