Manchester UTD v Tottenham betting preview

Man UTD will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Brighton

Manchester United put in arguably their worst display under Jose Mourinho's tutelage in the 3-2 reverse to Brighton at the Amex Stadium last weekend and are already left playing catch-up on their title rivals just a fortnight into the season. Of course, there are already questions being asked of Jose Mourinho's position at the club. Man United have won 21 of their 26 home Premier League matches against Tottenham, including victories in each of the last four encounters without conceding a goal.

Jose Mourinho revealed on Friday that Nemanja Matic, Alexis Sanchez and Antonio Valencia are back in training. Anyway we expect only the Chilean to feature form the off as offensive midfielder, alongside Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard. In midfield, Paul Pogba and Fred should be Mourinho's preferred pair, with Andreas Pereira dropping on bench. Ashely Young and Luke Shaw should start as full backs with Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof retaining their berth as centre backs despite their poor performance last time out. Up front, Romelu Lukaku will get the nod over Marcus Rashford. Sergio Romero, Diogo Dalot and Marcos Rojo are still sidelined for the hosts.

Tottenham have a dreadful away record when it comes to facing Big Six teams

Tottenham have racked up six points from six across the first two weeks of the season. Leading marksman Harry Kane scored in the month of August for the first time, while Lucas Moura netted his first Premier League goal since joining the club in January. They beat Newcastle United on the opening weekend and following it up with a well-earned 3-1 win at home to Fulham last time out. They  conceded in both games and need to improve at both ends of the pitch. Mauricio Pochettino's men haven't kept a clean sheet away from home in the Premier League since February. Furthermore, Spurs have lost 21 of their 26 Premier League visits to United, including losing the last three by a 1-0 scoreline.

Mauricio Pochettino is almost at full strength with his senior players. Hugo Lloris was charged for drink driving on Friday morning and his availability for Monday's crucial away fixture against United is now in doubt. The only absent is Son Heung Min who is unavailable due to his participation in the Asian Games. Erik Lamela impressed as a substitute last weekend and is in contention with Lucas moura to complete the offensive trio - alongside Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen - behind the lone striker Harry Kane. The likes of Mousa Dembele, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are possible starters in the double-pivot while no changes are expected in defense.
