MANCHESTER CITY v BORUSSIA M.GLADBACH BETTING PREVIEW

After beating Hull City 4-1 on Tuesday night to reach the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup, Manchester City were soundly beaten 2-0 by Stoke City last Saturday and now trail Leicester City by three points in Premier League. They had already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League but in order to secure top spot, they have to win this game and hope Sevilla win at home to Juventus.

Manuel Pellegrini is likely to be without key trio Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and captain Vincent Kompany for the visit of the German club. David Silva returned at the weekend and stayed fit. The Spaniard is likely to play at some stage. Samir Nasri is a long-term casualty, Pablo Zabaleta and Eliaquim Mangala are also sidelined.

Borussia M.Gladbach, who will guarantee a spot in the Europa League if they win, recorded a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich on Saturday and will arrive at the Etihad Stadium full of confidence. They are unbeaten in their last 10 Bundesliga fixtures and their last two in the Champions League. Andre Schubert's only defeat since taking over at Borussia-Park in late September came against Manchester City in the reverse fixture.

Schubert is likely to be without a host of players as Andre Hahn, Alvaro Dominguez, Patrick Hermmann, Nico and Marvin Schulz are alla out through injury. Furtermore, Ibrahima Traorè is a major doubt. Lars Stindl is likely to lead the line in a 4-5-1 system, with Xhaka and Dahoud in the middle of the park and Raffael and Fabian Johnson on the flanks.

Man City have kept only two clean sheets in their last 10 Premier League games having kept six in a row prior to that. The German side is yet to score a goal away from home in this competition (0-0 against Juventus and 3-0 at Sevilla).
