25/1 Liverpool to win!
LIVERPOOL vs BRIGHTON BETTING PREVIEW
Two points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea and boasting a far superior goal difference, Anything but a defeat to Brighton today will confirm a second successive Champions League campaign for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's men lost 1-0 to Chelsea in their midweek match, with a first-half goal from Olivier Giroud proving the difference between the two sides. With a squad knocked by injuries and arguably suffering from slight fatigue, the Reds have recently suffered a downturn in league form as they have picked up just one win in their last five Premier League matches. The Reds are currently unbeaten in 21 league matches at home against newly-promoted clubs and managed to win 5-1 at the AMex Stadium earlier this season.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to name a strong side against Brighton as he looks to build up form ahead of the UEFA Champions League final with Real Madrid. Reports suggest Sadio Mane is a major doubt having suffered a fresh injury, so Danny Ings could earn a start in the front three. Jordan Henderson should return in central midfield alongside James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum. In defense, Ragnar Klavan, Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno are viable alternatives should Klopp decide to rotate his defenders. Joel Matip, Emre Can, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez are all ruled out for the hosts.
Brighton have guaranteed their top-flight safety and will look to end the campaign on a high. David Wagner's men currently sit 14th on the leaderboard, but a win this weekend could see them move up to 10th – adding an additional £10m to their prize money. The Seagulls are without a win in 12 league games on the road. They have managed only two wins on their travels this season, collecting just 11 points and scoring only 10 goal. Anyway, only five teams having conceded fewer away goals than Brighton this campaign.
Chris Hughton may again stick with the majority of his usual starting XI for the trip to Anfield Road. Glenn Murray could come in for Leonardo Ulloa up front, while Pascal Gross shold retain his berth as number ten, as well as Anthony Knockaert and Josè Izquierdo out wide. Jurgen Locadia is also an option out wide for the Seagulls, along with Solly March. The likes of Davy Propper and Dale Stephen will anchor the midfield while Bruno, Shane Duffy, Lewis Dunk and Gaetan Bong will form the four man backline. Steve Sidwell remains the only absentee.
