Brazil v Peru betting preview  

Brazil have emerged as champions the past 4 times they hosted the Copa America

Brazil beat Peru 5-0 in the group stages and the two nations meet again in Sunday's final. In the group stage, they drew 0-0 with Venezuela after beating Bolivia 3-0 and then needed penalties to get past Paraguay following a goalless stalemate. They have reached Sunday's showdown without conceding a goal. The Canarinha saw off arch-rivals Argentina 2-0 in the semi-finals few days ago. In 22 competitive fixtures under manager Tite, the Seleçao have lost just one and kept 17 clean sheets. Plus, the former Corinthians coach took over Brazil have beaten Peru twice, both without conceding.

Gabriel Jesus, Everton, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho should all retain their starting berth up front. Willian has been ruled out of this match after picking up an injury against Argentina. Fernandinho is also in a race against time to recover for this match while Richarlison is not 100 fit and will sit on bench. Filipe Luis missed the semi-final success over Argentina with a thigh problem, but he could be in line to return. Arthur and Casemiro are expected to anchor the midfield.

Peru have turned up their performances in the knockout stages

Peru made the most of some comically poor Chilean defending in the semi-finals beating la Roja with an impressive 3-0. Other than that drubbing by Brazil, Los Incas have been pretty solid, letting in just one goal in their other four fixtures. They drew 0-0 with Venezuela and then beat Bolivia 3-1, progressing to knockout stages as one of the best third-placed teams. Then, La Blanquirroja were lucky to knock out Uruguay, as the Celeste had three disallowed goals and missed a string of chances. In our opinion, Peru can only really hope they are able to thwart Brazil like Paraguay did in the quarter-finals.

Peru remain without their second all-time leading goalscorer Jefferson Farfan. Hence, veteran captain Paolo Guerrero is set to lead the line once again. He will be supported by Edison Flores, Christian Cueva and Andrè Carrillo while Yotun and Renato Tapia will feature from the off in the middle of the park. Ricardo Gareca has no reason to make any changes in defense, where Carlos Zambrano and Luis Abram will start as centre backs, with Luis Advincula and Miguel Trauco on their flanks.
