ROMANIA v SWITZERLAND BETTING PREVIEW
Romania were unlucky to lose their first game against France, due to a last minute wonder strike from Dimitri Payet. That 2-1 loss marked the occasion of only Romania’s second defeat in 21 matches in all formats since the start of Euro qualifying back in the autumn of 2014 (W10-D9). Anyway, Anghel Iordanescu’s men proved themselves to be extremely well-organized and defensively robust.
Romania may keep with the same XI that pushed France all the way last time out. Florin Andone will lead the line once again, while Stancu and Stanciu will play behind him. Gabriel Torje and Adrian Popa are in contention for the remaining berth in the offensive midfield trio. Another option could see Iordanescu using Bogdan Stancu as a false nine.
Switzerland opened their Euro 2016 campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Albania, though they were helped by the sending off of Lorik Cana. A win here would assure their place in the knockout stages. The Swiss side edge the 12 previous encounters with Romania, winning five of them.
Vladimir Petkovic has no injury concerns and he is able to pick the strongest eleven. Eren Derdiyok could start ahead of Haris Seferovic while youngster Breel Embolo is likely to play at some stage. New Arsenal signing Granit Xhaka will be the playmaker in midfield with Valon Behrami and Blerim Dzemaili on his flanks. No changes are expected in defense.
