ANGELIQUE KERBER vs SERENA WILLIAMS BETTING PREVIEW
Angelique Kerber is at the peak of her powers at the momentAngelique Kerber beat Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 6-3 in their semi-final and is one win away from a third Grand Slam triumph. That result means that the German ace has dropped only one set on her way to this final. Kerber recorded straight-sets wins over Vera Zvonareva, Naomi Osaka, Belinda Bencic, Daria Kasatkina and the 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko. The only player able to win a set against Angelique Kerber was Claire Liu in the 2nd round. Wimbledon will he her first final since January’s Sydney Open – which she won – though three of her tournaments since have been ended at the semi-final stage.
The most impressive aspect of Kerber’s game this tournament has been her serve. What the German must must do is try and stay out of the hitting zone of the American, move her around as much as she at the baseline to test just how good her stamina is, and stay in rallies and force her rival to win the points.

Serena Williams will be competing in her 30th Grand Slam finalSerena Williams marched into her 10th Wimbledon title match with a 6-2 6-4 rout of Julia Goerges on Thursday. Prior to that, the American star beat Arantxa Rus, Viktoyia Tomova, Kristina Mladenovic and Evgenyia Rodina in straight sets and survived a scare against Camila Giorgi. An amazing achievement given that the seven-time champion gave a birth to daughter Olympia just over 10 months ago! Her sister Venus beat her at Indian Wells back in March and Naomi Osaka dumped her out in the first round of the Miami Open, but no one has beaten her since. The American is undefeated in 20 outings on grass dating back to 2014. Overall, Serena Williams leads the head-to-head 6-2, and all six of the Williams wins have been in straight sets. Interestingly, seven of those eight past meetings have come on hard courts, with Williams’ 2016 success in the Wimbledon final their only ever match on grass.
Williams is still a powerful force from the back of the court. while probably not still at her 2014-2015 levels in terms of overall play and movement, she is still more than a match for most of the WTA field.
- R1: S.Williams d. Arantxa Rus, 7-5 6-3
- R2: S.Williams d. Viktoriya Tomova, 6-1 6-4
- R3: S.Williams d. Kristina Mladenovic, 7-5 7-6(2)
- R4: S.Williams d. Evgeniya Rodina, 6-2 6-2
- QF: S.Williams d. Camila Giorgi, 3-6 6-3 6-4
- SF: S.Williams d. Julia Goerges, 6-2 6-4
