BAYERN vs SEVILLA BETTING PREVIEW
Bayern Munich registered an important 2-1 away win last week against Sevilla and enter the second leg as huge favourites. The Bavarians secured a sixth straight Bundesliga title on Saturday - with five games to spare - as they thrashed Augsburg 4-1. Unbeaten in all competitions at home this season, Bayern have won all four European games at the Allianz Arena, scoring 14 goals in the process. Actually, they have won 19 of their last 20 home matches in the Champions League. Furthermore, Bayern have kept four clean sheets in a row in front of their own fans.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is close to returning but he will still be unavailable. Kingsley Coman remains sidelined, while Arturo Vidal could also miss out. Robert Lewandowski was rested at the weekend and will return to the starting XI here. Four offensive midfielders will play behind the Polish striker: Thomas Muller, Thiago Alcantara, James Rodriguez and Frank Ribery are the probable choices. Arjen Robben provides a further option while Javi Martinez is likely to anchor the midfield.
Sevilla are winless in their last four matches and have lost three of those. The Andalusians suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat away at Celta Vigo on Sunday and currently occupy the 7th spot in La Liga standings. Although coach Vincenzo Montella shuffled his pack, that defeat has highlighted all their defensive frailties. They have leaked ten goals in four games since that famous win at Old Trafford against Manchester UTD, and they have leaked four goals or more on four occasions in 2018. However, during the four game winless run, they did dominate Barcelona before conceding twice late on to draw 2-2.
Defenders Simon Kjaer and Sebastian Corchia are expected to miss the trip to Bavaria. Midfielder Ever Banega returns from suspension and is expected to partner Steven N'Zonzi in the middle of the park. Up front, Luis Muriel should get the nod over Wissam Ben Yedderfor the central striker role, while Pablo Sarabia, Franco Vazquez and Joaquin Correa should start as offensive midfielders. With Gabriel Mercado doubtful, former Man City's Jesus Navas may have to continue at right-back here.
