ARSENAL vs ATLETICO MADRID BETTING PREVIEW
Arsenal survived a scare in the quarter final second leg against CSKA Moscow. They won 4-1 in Russia but find themselves two goals down at Emirates. Anyway, two late goals restored the lead in a 6-3 aggregate win. In Premier League, they sit 6th in the table, a stunning 11 points below 4th placed Tottenham. Winning the Europa League is the club’s last remaining chance to secure Champions League football for next year. Their home form over the previous five games had been excellent, winning all of them with a combined total of 16 goals scored.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ineligible while Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains injured. As a result, Alexandre Lacazette will spearhead the attack, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck playing as offensive midfielders. Will Mohamed Elneny out for the rest of the season, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka will continue in midfield. Petr Cech missed Sunday's win over West Ham but will be restored between the post. Sead Kolasinac is also available but Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin are expected to start as full backs.
Atletico Madrid were ever solid over the two legs against Sporting, winning both legs without conceding a goal (2-0 at home and 1-0 away). Diego Simeone's men are only focusing on the Europa League as they are guaranteed a top four positions in La Liga and their route to Champions League is clear for the coming campaign. The Colchoneros don't have an impressive away record having won just one of their last six matches on the road.
Diego Costa is a major doubt despite being included in the squad for the game while the other former Chelsea's player Filipe Luis is definitely out. With Juanfran also missing, Sime Vrsaljko and Theo Hernandez will start as full backs, with Diego Godin and Stefan Savic forming the central pair. Gabi and Thomas Partey are in competition for a starting berth in midfield while Saul Niguez, Koke and Angel Correa look sure starters. Antoine Griezmann will be partered by Diego Costa or Fernando Torres up front.
