Tottenham v Everton Betting Preview
Tottenham remained unbeaten in the final six league games of last seasonTottenham qualified for the Europa League last term, edging Wolves out of the top six on the final day of the campaign. They were much better after returning from the pause in action last term, going W5-D3-L1 and recording four consecutive home victories against West Ham, Everton, Arsenal and Leicester. In all those four victories, Jose Mourinho's men kept a clean sheet. A return to the top four must be their main goal for the season.
Spurs brought in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and right-back Matt Doherty from Wolves. Both should start the match. The former Southampton skipper will anchor the midfield alongside Moussa Sissoko while Doherty willcomplete the back four alongside Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Toby Alderweireld. Harry Kane is fit to lead the line and Dele Alli is expected to support him in the number 10 role. The likes of Son Heung Min and Steven Bergwijn will start out wide.
Everton won just one of their final six league matches of the campaignEverton will be keen to step up on a 12th-placed finish last term. The Toffees have signed a host of new talent including the brilliant James Rodriguez from Real Madrid and midfield Allan from Napoli. Carlo Ancelotti's men fell 3-0 down to Blackpool within 12 minutes of their opening pre-season game, but recovered to draw 3-3 and then beat Preston North End Their. Their record away to Spurs is even worse; they have won just three of he last 28 games in the Premier League era - losing 17.
Mason Holgate and Andre Gomes both look set to miss out for Everton through minor injuries, which should see Yerry Mina and Allan feature from the off. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison should lead the attack, with James Rodriguez likely to get the nod over Gylfi Sigurdsson as number ten. The likes of Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman are expected to start as full backs, while the other new signing Abdoulaye Doucoure should also start the match.
