Mares' Chase Betting Preview
The Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase is the penultimate race on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival - it is new for 2021.
The Grade 2 steeplechase, run over 2m4f on the New Course at Prestbury Park, replaces the Centenary Novices’ Handicap Chase (Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase) on the programme
And now we'll take a closer look at this year's Foxhunter Steeple Chase and try to determine which horse is likely to prevail.
Who will win the Mares' Chase 2021? ELIMAY is favourite to become the first winner of the new contest. She is unbeaten in chases against her own sex, with her only defeat over fences coming against stablemate Allaho. Her latest victory came in Listed company over the Gordon Elliott-trained Shattered Love.
Another Mullins contender is COLREEVY who is three out of three in her novice chase career - including a Grade 1 win against the geldings at Limerick on Boxing Day. He has caught the eye on a few occasions this year, beating the likes of Pencilfulloflead and Mount Ida.
SHATTERED LOVE will have to reverse the form having lost out to Elimay when they met last month, although it would not take masses of improvement to see her close that five-and-a-half-length distance.
MAGIC OF LOVE, runner-up in the Grand National two years ago, has stamina in abundance and should not be overlooked as well as SALSARETTA, another Mullins runner that was at here best level back in 2019 and 2020.
