Manchester City v Chelsea Betting Preview
Manchester City are top of the league and currently sit 10 points clear of 2nd placed Chelsea. New Year's Day victory over Arsenal (2-1) was their sixth in a row across all competitions and their 11th straight victory in the top flight. They followed up with a comfortable away win over Swindon (1-4) in the FA Cup third round. Pep Guardiola's men have scored 25 goals in this seven-match winning run, as it includes 7-0 and 6-3 hammerings of Leeds UTD and Leicester City respectively. The Citizens also boast the best offense and defense of the league, with 53 goals scored and 13 conceded in 21 games.
This is a must-win game for Chelsea as too many dropped points and a series of injuries have derailed their challenge somewhat. The Blues have lost just one of their last 15 Premier League matches but they have shared the spoils six times in the process. The Blues have regained a bit of solidity in 2022 having fought back to record a brilliant 2-2 draw against Liverpool, before a two-legged win over Tottenham saw the Blues reach the Carabao Cup final.
As to recent direct encounters, Manchester City recorded a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge earlier this season while Chelsea won this exact fixture 2-1 last season.
Who is the Manchester City vs Chelsea favourite?

Probable Line-Ups
Manchester City (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Ruben Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva; G.Jesus, De Bruyne, Foden
Man City have been hit by COVID-19 in the last weeks, with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Phil Foden believed to be the latest two players affected. Goalkeeper Ederson should be available for selection while John Stones is close to returning from a knock. Up front, Gariel Jesus should lead the line while Riyad Mahrez remains on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Algeria. Raheem Sterling could replace Foden in the front trio. The likes of Rodri, Gundogan and Bernardo Silva are likely to anchor the midfield.
Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, Alonso; Kantè, Kovacic; Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz; Lukaku
Andreas Christensen will miss the trip to Manchester City after testing positive for Covid-19 and will join fellow centre-back Trevoh Chalobah on the absence list, along with wing-backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell. Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is on AFCON duty but Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante both returned from COVID-19 infection and should feature from the off. Marcos Alonso should start as left back in a 4-2-3-1 starting system but the impressive Malang Sarr remains a viable alternative. Up front, Romelu Lukaku should spearhead the attack with Kai Havertz pushing for a recall in the final third over Timo Werner.
Our Manchester City v Chelsea Predictions
Both sides have been hit with Covid problems in the last couple of weeks and they won't be near full strength for Saturday's heavyweight clash. Anyway, Man City have home advantage and will be fresher than their opponents, as they didn't play in midweek. Chelsea have dropped eight points in the last five games in the Premier League. As a consequence, we expect Man City to take all three points. Anyway, it should be a narrow win for the host, with a 2-1 scoreline our recommended choice in the Correct Score market. Kevin De Bruyne's odds to go on the scoresheet are quite attractive.
