Everton vs Liverpool Betting Preview
Everton go into the match on the back of a 2-0 FA Cup defeat by Bournemouth. Anyway, they have performed quite well since sacking Sean Dyche. Since David Moyes returned to Goodison Park there has been a huge upturn in results with three wins from the five games he has taken charge of. They have won their last three top-flight games against Tottenham (2-1), Brighton (1-0) and Leicester (4-0) respectively under the new manager. A victory for the Toffees now would see them move 12 points clear of the relegation zone.
Liverpool also fell short in the FA Cup over the weekend as the Arne Slot's men put on a disappointing display against Championship basement dwellers Plymouth in a 1-0 defeat at Home Park. Prior to that, on February 6, the Reds beat Bournemouth 2-0 in the league and secured their place in the EFL Cup final overturning a 1-0 deficit from the first leg with a resounding 4-0 victory at Anfield Road. They have now the chance to go nine points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
Everton were 2-0 winners the last time the two sides went head-to-head at Goodison Park, a result that ruled the Reds out of the race to win the title in Jurgen Klopp's final campaign and ended their 12-game unbeaten away run in the Premier League.
Probable Line-Ups
Everton (4-5-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Harrison, Gueye, Garner, Doucoure, Ndiaye; Beto
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti are all sidelined, and former Udinese striker Beto will spearhead the attack once again. Dwight McNeil will also be missing after undergoing minor knee surgery, meaning that Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Harrison will start out wide, with Jasper Lindstrom providing a further option. The likes of Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucourè and James Garner will anchor the midfield. At the back, Vitalii Mykolenko missed Saturday's game with a claf strain, but could return in place of Ashley Young.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Salah, Diaz, Gakpo
Arne Slot rested most of their big-hitters in the match against Plymouth ahead of the derby and is set to make 10 changes. Joe Gomez was forced off with injury after just 11 minutes but Trent Alexander-Arnold could make his return to the matchday squad having missed the past two matches with a hamstring injury but Conor Bradley is likely to feature from the off at right-back. The likes of Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa are all set to drop out, while Luis Diaz could retain his berth up front alongside Cody Gakpo and mo Salah.
Best Odds
You’re always going to search for the best odds when it comes to betting. Here at BetAndSkill you can be assured to get the best price from the best betting sites in the UK and worldwide we regularly compare.
Liverpool are unsurprisingly the favourites to get the three points, with odds around 4/9 (1.46 on non-UK bookies) for an away win. Everton are the underdogs despite playing at home and can be backed at odds of 7/1 (8.00) while the draw is priced at 19/5 (4.80).
Our Everton v Liverpool Predictions
Everton are a tough nut to crack at home. In the league the Toffees have lost just two of their last 10 games at Goodison Park, winning four and drawing the other four. Moreover, they have conceded just 28 goals in their 23 games, meaning that their problems are on the other side of the pitch.
Liverpool have only dropped points on the road by drawin against second-placed Arsenal, third-placed Forest and sixth-placed Newcastle. Furthermore, have won all nine of their away fixtures against teams outside the Premier League's top six
Historically, the Reds have dominated this fixture, winning four of the last five meetings between the two sides.
Hence, we fancy Liverpool to get all three points here, even if we do not expect a wide margin victory.
We back Liverpool to win 2-1 in the Correct Score market, with Mo Salah as the main candidate to break the deadlock.
We also expect plenty of bookings, so we recommend to place a bet on James Garner to get a card.
