Israel secured their first UEFA European Under-21 Championships semi-final appearance - whilst also qualifying for next year’s Paris Olympics - by beating co-host Georgia 4-3 on penalties after a hard-fought 0-0 draw. They have proven to be a tough nut to crack. Despite managing only 37% of ball possession thorughout the tournament, Guy Luzon's men managed to dra 1-1 against Germany and beat Czech Republic courtesy of a last-gasp goal.England survived several scares to edge past Portugal 1-0 in the quarter finals. The Young Lions have a 100% winning record so far at the European Championships and are yet to concede a goal in four matches. Lee Carsley's men beat 2-0 all their opponents during the group stages - Czech Republic, Germany and Israel. They are now odds on favorites to win the title this summer.
England have now won three of their four meetings with Israel, losing the other game at the 2013 edition. Goals from Aaron Gordon and Emile Smith Rowe either side of the half-time whistle propelled the Young Lions to a 2-0 win over the Crusaders during their group-stage encounter on June 25th.

Max Aarons and Ben Johnson will be unavailable due to suspension, leaving the Young Lions in somewhat of a predicament at full-back. James Garner will continue playing as righ-back while Charlie Cresswell and Lke Thomas are in contention for a starting berth on the opposite side. Harvey Elliott was unavailable against Portugal but should return for Wednesday's game. Jacob Ramsey was taken off injured on Sunday and the Aston Villa's midfielder is expected to make room for Emile Smith-Rowe.
