Ajax v Liverpool Betting Preview
Ajax are six points behind second-placed Liverpool with two games left after one win - against Rangers - and three defeats. The Eredivisie outfit lost late against Liverpool at Anfield, but was hammered twice by Napoli, losing 6-1 at home and 4-2 in Naples. For the hosts, a draw would be enough to secure a Europa League spot. Domestically, Alfred Schreuder's side are four points clear of PSV Eindhoven. After a 4-2 victory at FC Volendam, they beat Excelsior 7-1 and followed that up with a 4-1 win at RKC Waalwijk on Saturday.
Just when it looked like Liverpool were back on track with three consecutive victories over Rangers, Man City and West Ham, Jurgen Klopp's men suffered a bloody 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest over the weekend. That defeat has left the Reds eight in the Premier League, a whopping 12 points behind league leaders Arsenal after 11 games played. In Champions League the Merseysiders need a point to secure their berth in the knockout stages with a game to spare. After back-to-back victories against Rangers, Liverpool have now won three Group A matches on a row, leaving the Reds six points clears of Ajax heading into the penultimate game of the group-stage.
Best Odds

Team News & Probable Line-Ups
Ajax (4-3-3): Pasveer; Sanchez, Timber, Bassey, Blind; Klaassen, Alvarez, Berghuis; Tadic, Kudus, Bergwijn
The likes of Ahmetcan Kaplan, Devyne Rensch and Mohamed Ihattaren are sidelined for the hosts, while midfielder Kenneth Taylor is doubtful due to a muscle strain. Brian Brobbey is likely to make way for Mohammed Kudus in attack, while Steven Bergwijn and Dusan Tadic will flank the Ghana international. In the middle of the park, Edson Alvarez will be the playmaker, alongside Steven Berghuis and Davy Klaassen. At the back, Jorge Sanchez and Calvin Bassey will play as full backs, Jurrien timber and Daley Blind the centre backs.
Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Thiago, Elliott; Firmino, Nunez, Salah
Liverpool will be without Arthur Melo, Joel Matip and Diogo Jota, who are long-term absentees, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are ineligible. Up front, Mo Salah will retain his starting berth despite his poor form. Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino are expected to complete the front trio as Luis Diaz is unlikely to play again until after the World Cup. Harvey Elliott should get the nod over Curtis Jones for a place in midfield alongside Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson. At the back, Ibrahima Konatè will feature from the off, replacing Joe Gomez as Virgil Van Dijk's partner.
Our Ajax v Liverpool Predictions
We expect a high scoring affair at the Amsterdam Arena. Ajax have scored and conceded at least once in their last 8 outings, averaging 5 goals in the process.
Liverpool will look to put their league defeat behind them, with a win here. The Eredivisie side are very shaky in defense. They will go all out attack, potentially leaving space for the visitors to exploit on the counter.
As a result, we back Liverpool to win and both teams to score. Mohammed Salah will enjoy all the spaced and we believe the Egyptian could put his name on the scoresheet. A 4-2 win for the Reds is our pick in the Correct Score market.
