Peru v Denmark betting preview
Peru finished 5th in the South American qualifying groupPeru became the final team to secure a World Cup spot. They snatched the South America play-off spot from Chile on goal difference. Then, they qualified thanks to a 2-0 win over New Zealand in the second leg of their playoff match. They recently beat Saudi Arabia 3-0 at the start of June, following that with a draw against Sweden and leaving them with an impressive 15 match unbeaten streak coming into this clash. This could be a low scoring affair as 7 of Peru's last nine games have had under 2.5 goals, while Denmark have had 7 out of the last eight.
Captain and leading goalscorer Paolo Guerrero will start up front after getting his doping ban overturned. Andre Carrillo, Cristian Cueva and Edison FLores are likely to play as offensive midfielders, with Jefferson Farfan as backup option. Winger Paolo Hurtado is likely to be kept in reserve, but expect the Vitoria Guimaraes player to make an appearance during the second half. Renato Tapia and Yotun will form the midfield pair, while the likes of Trauco, Ramos, Rodriguez and Advincula are likely to start at the back.
Denmark have been impressive in their last two outingsDenmark back to the World Cup finals courtesy of their play-off victory over the Republic of Ireland, running out comfortable winners after producing a remarkable performance in Dublin to thrash the home side 5-1. They made a pretty miserable start to their World Cup qualifying campaign but then embarked on a seven-match unbeaten run that allowed them to finish second in their group behind Poland. They won 2-0 against Mexico on Saturday to make it seven wins, seven draws, and two defeats in their last 16 matches.
Denmark will build their team around star man Christian Eriksen. The Tottenham player will support Nicolai Jorgensen upfront, flanked by Pione Sisto and Yussuf Poulsen. Andreas Christensen and Simon Kjaer will start as centre backs, protected by Thomas Delaney e William Kvist. The full-backs are likely to be Henrik Dalsgaard and Jens Stryger Larsen while Leicester's CIty goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel will start between the posts. Ajax starlet Kasper Dolberg will be the one to watch for the Danes off the bench.
