Manchester City vs Leicester betting preview  

Man City have steadied the ship with 3 successive wins since their derby defeat to Man UTD

Manchester City looked back to their best in the victory over Arsenal at the weekend and saw off Oxford United 3-1 in midweek to progress to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. They are already 14 points off the pace in the top flight after winning just three of their last six matches in the competition. Their defensive solidity remains suspect as even League One outfit Oxford United caused them problems. As to direct encounters, Man City have won six of the last seven meetings against the Foxes across all competitions. Last season's match at Etihad ended 1-0, as Vincent Kompany unleashed a 30-yard missile into the top corner.

Manager Pep Guardiola is expected to go with his strongest 11 for this fixture. Summer signing Rodri could return to the midfield alongside Ilkay Gundogan and the in-form Kevin De Bruyne. At the back, Benjamin Mendy, Nicolas Otamendi, Fernandinho and Kyle Walker could all return. Sergio Aguero returned to training at the start of the week but was not risked in midweek. Hence, we expect Gabriel Jesus to start as central forward. David Silva and John Stones are all doubtful while Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte are long term absentees.

Leicester are four points clear of the Citizens and 10 points adrift of leaders Liverpool. They are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in all competitions, last suffering defeat at the hands of top dogs Liverpool. Anyway, the Foxes have drawn their last two - 1:1 at home against Norwich and 2-2 at Everton in Carabao Cup. Their away winning streak remains intact, now six in a row across all competitions. Brendan Rodgers' men boast the best defensive record of the Premier League, having have conceded three fewer goals than any other club this season.

Brendan Rodgers may revert back to a 4-5-1 formation at the Etihad, meaning that Harvey Barnes is likely to replace Kelechi Iheanacho in the starting XI. Caglar Soyuncu and Youri Tielemans were two first-team players given a rest and both are expected to feature from the off in defense and midfield respectively. Ayoze Perez and James Maddison will support Jamie Vardy's attacks while Wilfried Ndidi will anchor the midfield. Ben Chilwell, Ricardo Pereira and Jonny Evans will complete fhe four man backline. Matty James remains the only sidelined player for the visitors.
