Adrian will start in goal on Wednesday as Alisson is suspended for the red card picked up last time out. The back four will continue to operate without Joel Matip who is still "a while" away from a return. James Milner could come in for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Adam Lallana is unlikely to command a place in the first-team for such an important fixture. Up front, Mo Salah is not 100% fit but will start the match alongside Sadio Manè and Roberto Firmino, with Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi providing further options. The likes of Fabinho and Nathaniel Clyne are sidelined.
Seamus Coleman has returned to training but will not make the matchday squad. As a result, Djibril Sidibe will retain his berth as wing back on the right side of a 3-4-3 starting system. Mason Holgate will join Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the three man backline while Morgan Schneiderlin and Tom Davies are expected to anchor the midfield. Up front, Moise Kean and Bernard are two mobile alternatives to Alex Iwobi and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Brazilian striker Richarlison is the only player sure to start up front. Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph, Cuco Martina and Jean-Philippe Gbamin remain sidelined.
