Group A Betting Preview
Italy are red hot favourites to top the Group A. The Azzurri haven’t had any hiccups in their qualification campaign, topping their group with 10 wins from 10 games and an impressive goal difference - 37 goals scored and 4 conceded. Roberto Mancini's men recently won a difficult Nations League A group and possess the strongest squad out of these four teams. They will enjoy home advantage for all three of their group games as they will play at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Determining the runner-up is a trickier task as Switzerland, Turkey and Wales all have chance to progress.
Turkey come off the back of a phenomenal start to World Cup qualifying but suffered greatly from inconsistency in Nations League B, where they get relegated. Anyway, they have a true defensive wall with Caglar Soyuncu, Merih Demiral, and Ozan Kabak, in addition to skilled goal scorer Burak Yilmaz. They will basically enjoy home advantage in their matches against Wales and Switzerland, as these fixtures will be played in Baku and the bond between Azerbaijan and Turkey is close.
Wales had a successful Nations League campaign, winning their group undefeated and recording several narrow 1-0 wins over Finland, Bulgaria and Republic of Ireland. The Dragons had a successful campaign, winning their group undefeated, confirming they are a tough nut to crack. There’s no doubt Wales face a tough task ahead of them, but the Dragons have slain higher-rated rivals in the past and could be the surprise package of the group.
Switzerland also had a positive Nations League, obtaining six points in a group containing Spain, Germany and Ukraine. Their start to World Cup qualifying campaign was less solid, as they only recorded an underwhelming 1-0 victory against Lithuania. Vladimir Petkovic's side has qualified from their group at each of the last three major tournaments. The former Lazio boss guided Switzerland to the last 16 of the 2018 World Cup after draws with Brazil and Costa Rica and a 2-1 win over Serbia in Group E.

Euro 2020 Group A Predictions
Italy are on a 22-match unbeaten run and they appear to have momentum on their side ahead of the group stage. Turkey have been struggling for form of late, winning just two of their last 11 matches. The Swiss won four of their last five games to seal top spot in Group D on the final match-day of the regular qualifying campaign and we expect them to finish runner-up, with Wales battling with Turkey for the third place.
Will Wales progress to knockout stage?
Wales are 4/5 to qualify with Paddypower. Much will depend on Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey's fitness, altough the likes of Joe Rodon, Daniel James, Ben Davies, Ethand Ampadu, Neco Williams and Harry Wilson represent a good "supporting cast". We expect Wales to go through as one of four best thir-placed teams at the Euros. Furthermore, Ryan Giggs’ attacking options have been boosted by the improvement shown from Kieffer Moore and Tyler Roberts.
Will Italy win all three group stage matches?
The Azzurri reached the Euro 2020 finals with a perfect 10 wins from as many Group J qualifiers and have also reached October’s Nations League Finals. We expect a strong start from Italy - two victories against Turkey and Switzerland. At this point, should Italy be already sure of top spot, Roberto Mancini could decide to rotate his team and the final game against Wales could end in a draw. So, we expect Italy to collect 7 points from their three group stage fixtures.
