England v Montenegro Betting Preview
England have won the latest 17 qualifying matches at homeAfter their disappointing 2-1 loss to the Czech Republic, England bounced back with a spectacular 6-0 win away to Bulgaria and currently to the Group A. Gareth Southgate's side needs only one point from their final two qualifiers to book their place at Euro 2020. Englad have netted at least four goals in five of their last six games. The reverse fixture against Montenegro saw the Three Lions winning with 5-1 scoreline in Podgorica in March.
Raheem Sterling will play no part in this match as he has been has been axed after a training ground fight with Joe Gomez. As a result, Jadon Sancho is likely to return to the starting lineup in a front three alongside Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford with Tammy Abraham providing a viable alternative up front. Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is suspended due to an accumulation of bookings while Ross Barkley has pulled out of the squad to boost James Maddison's chances of making his senior England debut during the international break. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Chilwell should start as full backs while Harry Maguire and Tyrone Mings will be paired at the heart of the backline. Fikayo Tomori and Dean Henderson are the other uncapped players in the squad who could be involved.
Montenegro have regressed markedly from the team that threatened to qualify for the 2018 World CupMontenegro are without a win in the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign having recorded four defeats and three draws from seven matches. A record that left them joint-bottom with Bulgaria on just three points. They suffered a 2-0 defeat against Kosovo in their previous qualifier in October. Faruk Hadzibegovic's side have just three goals from their seven Group A games so far while conceding 15 at the other end. They have failed to score in their last four and are not expected to threat the Three Lions.
Former Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic, has been sidelined due to injury as well as key defender Stefan Savic. The likes of Adam Marusic and Aleksandar Scekic have also been forced to withdraw from the original squad due to injury meaning that the visitors will play with many fringe players. Marko Simic is the only defender named with more than 10 caps to his name. Stefan Mugosa, who has scored two of Montenegro's three goals in qualifying so far, and Fatos Beciraj are likely to lead the line. They will be supported by Vladimir Jovovic and Aleksandar Boljevic as wingers.
