Denmark v Australia betting preview
A win here will virtually guarantee Denmark a spot in the next round of the World CupDenmark opened their FIFA World Cup 2018 campaign on Saturday by beating Peru 1-0. Anyway, they were outplayed by the South Americans who had 17 shots on goal and also missed a penalty when the result was 0-0. The Danes have lost only two of their last 18 international fixtures and that rock-solid defence continues to rack up clean sheet after clean sheet, altough they were extremely lucky to avoid conceding in their opening round. These nations have met each other three times, with Denmark winning twice and Australia once.
William Kvist is ruled out for Denmark after being stretchered off last time out. Andreas Christensen was also forced off with a knock in the second half but he should recover in time to feature. The likes of Pione Sisto, Christian Eirksen and Yussuf Poulsen are expected to retain their starting berth behind the lone striker Nicolai Jorgensen. Lasse Schone and Thomas Delaney will anchor the midfield once again.
Australia put in a good account of themselves against one of the tournament favouritesAustralia actually managed to play much better than many expected agaisnt France but they suffered a 2-1 defeat. The Australians fell behind to a controversial Antoine Griezmann penalty but went 1-1 courtesy of a penalty converted by Mile Jedinak before a Paul Pogba’s deflected shot gave Les Blues all three points. The Socceroos did not let themselves get dominated in the possession battle, securing the ball 49 percent of the time. They have only lost two of their last ten and have taken results from Colombia, Hungary, and Czech Republic during this period too.
Bet Van Marvijk could make just one change to the starting XI, with Tomi Juric coming in for Andrew Nabbout as the lead forward in the Dutchman's preferred 4-4-1-1 setup. He could also favour Massimo Luongo's greater energy here and teenage striker Daniel Arzani might get more than a handful of minutes this time. The four man backline will be formed by Aziz Behich, Mark Milligan, Trent Sainsbury and Josh Risdon while Huddersfield's Aaron Mooy will be the playmaker in the middle of the park.
