Croatia U21 v England U21 betting preview
Croatia have recorded just one win from their past five matchesCroatia U21 have been very disappointing so fare, despite having eight senior-capped players among their squad. lost to Romania (4-1) and France (1-0) in the first two Euro U21 fixtures, leaving them with no chance of finishing among the top two and progressing to the semi-finals. The only previous meetings between these teams came in October 2014, when England won 2-1 in each leg of the 2015 U21 Euros play-offs.
Croatia have a full-strength squad to pick from but, with no chance of progressing to the semi-finals, manager Nenad Gracan is likely to make some changes. Leicester centre-half Filip Benkovic, who impressed on loan at Celtic last season, could return from a foot injury. Wolfsburg star Josip Brekalo, also injured early on in the tournament, is now back available and will complete the front trio alongside Sandro Kulenovic and captain Alen Halilovic. The likes of Nikola Vlasic, Nikola Moro and Ivan Sunjic will start in the middle of the park.
England have lost three on the bounce, conceding 8 times in the processEngland U21 also failed to deliver on the high expectation set by their senior colleagues. The Young Lions were beaten 4-2 by Romania on Friday and cannot qualify for the knockout stages after losing their first two games. Against Romania they conceded four goals in the last 20 minutes. Prior to that, they led France 1-0 thanks to a superb Phil Foden effort until Jonathan Ikone levelled in the 89th minute and then Aaron Wan-Bissaka scored a stoppage-time own goal.
Aidy Boothroyd is without Ryan Sessegnon for this clash. Hamza Choudhury returns from suspension, while Phil Foden will feature after being rested last time out. Having scored from the bench against Romania Tammy Abraham will hope to lead the line, flanked by Demarai Gray and Reiss Nelson. The likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Dominic Solanke provide further options up front. The likes of Ezri Konsa, Lloyd Kelly and Morgan Gibbs-White could all come into contention having not featured at all thus far.
