Young defender William Saliba should start alongside David Luiz and Kieran Tierney in the three man backline. The likes of Bukayo Saka and Cedric Soares should start as wing backs with Ainsley Maitland-Niles providing a further option. Up front, new boy Willian is in contention with Reiss Nelson for a place in the attacking trio, alongside Eddie Nketiah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Gabriel Martinelli is still sidelined while Alexandre Lacazette lacks match fitness. In the middle of the park, Matteo Guendouzi or Lucas Torreira should flank Granit Xhaka. Bernd Leno returned from injury in midweek and is expected to start in goal despite Emiliano Martinez's immense performances at the end of last season. The likes of Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers, Shkodran Mustafi and new signing Gabriel are unavailable.

Jurgen Klopp has a few injury doubts ahead of the curtain raiser. Alex Oxlande-Chamberlain is out through injury while Jordan Henderson is back in full training but may not be risked from the start. Trent Alexander-Arnold is also expected to be benched having missed the pre-season in Austria. Neco Williams is set to deputise as right back. Curtis Jones is likely to partner Naby Keita and Fabinho in the middle of the park while Rhian Brewster, who impressed in Austria, could be a surprise starter in attack alongside Sadio Manè and Mo Salah. New signing Konstantinos Tsimikas could make his first official appearance in the second half.

Community Shield betting preview
Arsenal looked much better with Arteta in charge
Arsenal finished the 2019/20 season well and even beat Liverpool at the Emirates in July, a 2-1 victory courtesy of Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson's goals. Mikel Arteta's men finished 8th in the domestic table by secured Europa League participation thanks to their FA Cup success. The Gunners have played just one pre-season game ahead of this match, beating MK Dons 4-1 on Tuesday. Arsenal’s record at Wembley certainly shouldn’t be discounted either. Lifting the FA Cup at the start of this month means that they have won 14 of their past 15 trips to Wembley, only losing the 2018 League Cup final to Manchester City.Young defender William Saliba should start alongside David Luiz and Kieran Tierney in the three man backline. Liverpool have lost just once in the last 13 matches against Arsenal
Liverpool ran away with the Premier League last term as they claimed their first league title for 30 years, wrapping it up with seven games to spare and finishing a mammoth 43 points ahead of Arsenal. Jurgen Klopp's men arrive back to England having taken part in a pre-season training camp in Austria, during which they defeated Stuttgart 3-0 but needed to come from two goals down to draw with Salzburg. The Reds lost last year’s Community Shield after a 1-1 draw with Manchester City and a 5-4 defeat on penalties.Jurgen Klopp has a few injury doubts ahead of the curtain raiser.
