Brighton vs Manchester City betting preview
Brighton have not won in their last nine, losing six and scoring only twiceBrighton have failed to improve on last year's solid debut campaign in the Premier League. The Seagulls have drawn three of their last four, and have gone 9 fixtures without a victory in all competitions. One of the losses in this negative run came against Man City themselves in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley. Anyway, they are safe from the relegation zone since their hard earned point against Arsenal last weekend, plus the fact Cardiff fell to defeat again, meant Chris Hughton' men will play Premier League footbal next season too. Since Brighton were promoted ahead of last season, three of the four head-to-head meetings in all competitions have seen City win either 1-0 or 2-0.
Davy Propper and Jose Izquierdo are both sidelined but Chris Hughton said he otherwise had a fully-fit squad to choose from. The manager must decide whether to hand a final Brighton start to Bruno, who has announced that he will retire after Sunday's game. Gaetan Bong is an alternative to Bernardo at left-back, while Beram Kayal will be hoping for a recall in central midfield - although Yves Bissouma is favourite to start. Anthony Knockaert should come in for Alireza Jahanbakhsh on the right, joining Solly March and Pascal Gross in the offensive midfield trio behind the lone striker Glenn Murray.
Manchester City are 90 minutes away from retaining their Premier League titleMan City have kept a clean sheet in 6 of their last 7 Premier League matches
Manchester City go into the final day a point clear at the summit after a run of 13 consecutive victories in the Premier League. However, they are not in scintillating form like two months ago, as three of the most recent four victories secured via narrow 1-0 scorelines. Monday night saw Vincent Kompany score a world class scorcher from distance against Leicester. With that in mind, Brighton's defence-first style of football is not exactly ideal for City's final-day assignment. As to direct matches, the Citizens have won each of their last four meetings with this opposition.
Benjamin Mendy and Kevin De Bruyne miss out for the title contenders while Fernandinho will be assessed ahead of the kick-off. Pep Guardiola could decide to name the same starting lineup, although Bernardo Silva will move inside should Leroy Sane replace Phil Foden. Riyad Mahrez hasn't played a minute since Gameweek 32 and looks unlikely to challenge for a start, meaning that Sergio Aguero and Reheem Sterling are sure to lead the line. Ilkay Gundogan is likely to be the playmaker while Vincent Kompany will be confirmed at the heart of the defense along with Aymeric Laporte. Kyle Walker and Oleksandr Zinchenko are expected to complete an unchanged backline.
