Birmingham v West Brom betting preview
Birmingham City remain without a win in the league this seasonBirmingham are still yet to get a win under their belt after six games into the new Championship season. They find themselves just four spots off the bottom of the league with just four points collected so far. Anyway, Garry Monk's men lost 1-0 narrowly in away games against Middlesbrough and Bolton. Their last match against QPR finished in a goalless draw, with their opponents having the better share of chances. They have drawn their last 3 home matches in the league. Furthermore, the Blues did not score a single goal in five of last six games in all competitions.
Changes are expected after a 0-0 draw last time out. Striker Omar Bogle may come in for Che Adams as the former failed to register a goal or assist so far this season. Jota and Jacques Maghoma will start as wingers in midfield, with Gary Gardner and Maikel Kieftenbeld playing in the middle of the park. The Blues are still without Isaac Vassell following his freak hip injury while David Davis is the only long-term absentee.
WBA are scoring for fun - 16 goals in just 6 fixturesWest Brom are in much the better shape of these local rivals both on and off the pitch. After their first match, which ended in a shock home loss to perceived strugglers Bolton, the Baggies are perched inside the Championship's top-10 having W3-D1-L2 in their opening six outings. Darren Moore's men were convincing 2-1 winners against promotion favourites Stoke in their most recent outing, bouncing back perfectly from the 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough a week earlier. In the Carabao Cup, WBA recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win against Mansfield.
Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez are both set to start up front once again this weekend with Harvey Barnes playing as number ten. Scottish international duo Matt Phillips and James Morrison have both recovered from injury to be available for the Baggies but the latter is expected to sit on bench. Jake Livermore and Chris Brunt will anchor the midfield while Ahmed Hegazi, Kyle Bartley and Craig Dawson will form the three man backline. WBA are reportedly interested in signing Malian forward Bakary Sako, who is a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace in the summer.
