Popular Wimbledon Betting Markets

You can bet on Wimbledon almost all year round when it comes to outright odds with the number of markets available ramping up once the draw has been made and the tournament progresses.

There are a number of markets that are more popular than others, while you’ll also find the likes of Paddy Power and other new betting sites offer a range of novelty markets once the tournament begins.

Below you’ll find a number of the main markets offered during Wimbledon...

Match Result Odds

Match Result odds are offered across many sports and is the most basic wager bookmakers deliver.

All they involve is simply betting on the player you think will win a specific match.

Set Betting

Set betting is a similar concept but as well as predicting the winner of a match you also have to select the score in which they will do so.

For example, you might want to place a set bet on Novak Djokovic. This would mean you’re betting on Djokovic to win and you would then need to predict the number of sets, for example 2-0.

You will find better value then you would on the Match Result market, but of course it is also harder to predict.

Total Match Games

From sets, you can narrow down that further and predict the number of games that will be played in a match.

This is usually offered in an Over/Under format so rather then betting on a specific number you’ll bet on a number range.

For example, you might wish to bet on Under 18.5 games to be played in a match. In this case the number of games played would need to be 18 or fewer.

Outright Winner

You can bet on the outright winner of Wimbledon tournaments in both Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles all year round.

This market is backing the player you believe will win the Wimbledon tournament.

Wimbledon 2022 Favourites - Tournament Winner Odds

The bookies are always offering a market on the outright winners of Wimbledon. Below you’ll find the betting odds for the current favourites to win Wimbledon 2022…

Men’s Singles Wimbledon Outright Odds

The big favourite for the men’s singles is Novak Djokovic. The Serb has won the last three Wimbledon titles (and five of the last six editions since 2014).

Matteo Berrettini has recently returned from an injury and he looks 100% fit and ready. The Italian followed his impressive win in Stuttgart by landing the traditional Wimbledon pre-cursor at Queens, losing just a single set across five matches.

Despite being price at over 50/1, Andy Murray remains a popular choice across tennis punters.

The 35-year-old Scotsman showed more than glimpses of his best tennis in reaching the final in Stuttgart just over a week ago.

The likes of Hubert Hurkacz, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz and Felix Auger Aliassime occupy 3rd-7th positions in the betting while Marin Cilic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios and Denis Shapovalov are potential dark horses.

Women’s Singles Wimbledon Outright Odds

Iga Swiatek is the current superstar in women's tennis. She is enjoying a 35-match unbeaten streak, dating back to mid-February. The 21-year-old won her second French Open last month, dropping just a single set in the whole tournament.

A serious contender in the women’s singles is Ons Jabeur. She is somewhat surprisingly the 16/1 fourth favourite despite making the final at both the Madrid Open and the Italian Open, and winning in Berlin few days ago.

Cori Gauff is second favourite, while Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, Maria Sakkari, Belinda Bencic, Bianca Andreescu, Paula Badosa, Barbora Krejcikova, Amanda Anisimova, Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza and Karolina Pliskova also are promintent in the betting.

Emma Raducanu was beaten in the second round in the French Open in May but remains a prominent contender along with Serena Williams for SW19 glory.

Wimbledon has been a true home-away-from-home for the Williams Sisters. Venus and Serena have combined to win 12 Wimbledon singles championships and six doubles championships since the turn of the century.

Last year's winner and former number one Ashleigh Barty shocked the world by announcing her retirement last March.
