2000 GUINEAS BETTING PREVIEWWith no trials this spring, there is only last year’s two-year-old form to go on. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, every horse in this line-up will be making their seasonal reappearance. Of course, this make predicting the winner a tough job.
Pinatubo recorded six victories from as many start at the age of two and is the red hot favorite to win this race. He won the National Stakes at Curragh by a huge margin and the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket by a cosy two lengths. Prior to that, he won the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood.
Arizona is the next up in the betting. He finished behind Pinatubo in both the aforementioned Group 1 events but was disappoint in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita (USA). His sole black-type success last season came in the Coventry at Royal Ascot.
Kameko ended his juvenile season with an impressive victory at Newcastle when he landed in the Vertem Futurity Trophy. He had earlier gone down narrowly in both the Solario Stakes (won by Positive), and in the Royal Lodge.
Kinross was scintillating on his debut at Newmarket in October before finishing four places behind Kameko at Newcastle. He seems sure to have benefited from the experience and remains a smart prospect.

Dark horses?Wichita was back in third in the Dewhurst Stakes, 4¾l behind Pinatubo, but won the Somerville Tattersalls Stakes with a 7 lenght annihilation of Persuasion on quicker ground.
Military March winning both his starts last year, including when he fought off Godolphin stablemate, Al Suhail to win the Autumn Stakes.
Al Suhail was beaten by market rivals Military March and Kemeko and has ground to make up. He went close in both the Solario and the Autumn Stakes, meaning his only victory to date came in a four-runner event at Yarmouth.
Mums Tipple impressively won at York by 11 lengths last season, after making all the running. He followed up with a poor performance a Newmarket but he was found to be lame afterwards.
Kenzai Warrior is unbeaten so far. He won both his starts last autumn, following a debut win at Salisbury over the subsequent Zetland Stakes winner Max Vega
Royal Donorch won the Group 2 Royal Lodge over 1m ahead of Kameko in September but that remains his notable performance so far.
Juan Elcano also won on heavy ground on debut but has failed to impress since then.
The likes of Cepheus, Starcat, Persuasion and New World Order look weel-beaten in this company as this represents a big jump in class for all of them.
