REAL MADRID v BARCELONA BETTING PREVIEWWe have already watched two 'EL Clasico' this season! Real Madrid suffered a 3-2 when they faced their bitter rivals in a recent friendly match in Miami but the Blancos won the first leg of this Super Cup tie, at the Camp Nou last Sunday, by a 3-1 scoreline. Prior to that, they secured the first trophy of the season by defeating Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup. Real Madrid have scored a goal in each of their last 67 competitive matches, and another high scoring affair is on the card.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be missing from the action on Wednesday, as he were sent off in the first leg few minutes after scoring a stunner. His one match suspension extended to five following a push from the Portuguese forward on the match official. Cesar Vallejo is also definitely out of contention, but Isco and Mateo Kovacic have resumed training. Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema should retain their places up top as a result, but Marco Asensio will also be pushing for a start while Isco is expected to start in the number ten position.
Barcelona will be very motivated to improve on a sluggish and sloppy first-leg display, and they will be looking to talisman Lionel Messi for inspiration. The sale of Neymar clearly has not helped matters and the likes of Gerard Deulofeu and Denis Suarez, don’t have what it takes to fill his boots. Ousmane Dembele and Phillippe Coutinho are players that Barcelona have identified but neither signing is close. Overcoming a 2 goal deficit will be very hard for this Barcelona. Some hope for the Catalans comes from the fact they’ve won on 3 of their last 4 visits to the Bernabeu.
Denis Suarez and Sergi Roberto are tipped to replace Gerard Deulofeu and Aleix Vidal, while new recruit Paulinho (formerly judged as SPurs' worst player ever) is unlikely to play a part. Andres Iniesta is unlikely to be able to start two games in the space of four days, with Andre Gomes and Sergi Roberto set to battle it out to replace the ageing playmaker in midfield. Sergi Roberto could also play as left back, with Jordi ALba retaining his berth on the other flank.
