ROMANIA v SPAIN BETTING PREVIEW
Romania beat Lithuania 1-0 on Wednesday thanks to a sole goal from Stanciu, confirming they are a solid team after a successful Euro 2016 qualifying campaign as they have finished second in group F, just one point behind Northern Ireland. Their biggest strength has been their solid defence as they conceded fewer goals than any other national in qualifiying for the Euros (just 2) and are unbeaten in their last 16 matches (W9-D7) Their last defeat came against Algeria in June 2014.
Full-back Laszlo Sepsi is out through injury. Watford goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon is likely to retain his place in goal, with the likes of Gabriel Torje, Vlad Chiriches and Bogdan Stancu are set for a start. Adrian Rapotan could be handed a starting berth. Claudiu Keseru is expected to lead the line in a 42-3-1 formation.
Spain had won six in a row in all formats before drawing in Italy in midweek, a match in which they were worryingly outplayed by the Azzurri. Furthermore, prior to the match against Italy, La Roja have kept clean sheets in 6 consecutive matches. They have lost just one of their last six away matches and topped their Euro 2016 qualifying group away from Slovenia with a W9-L1 record. Anyway, they don't seem to have a prolific attack.
Del Bosque will be without centre-back Sergio Ramos, who was forced to fly home after suffering a back injury. Also missing are injured Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal and Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta. One man likely to keep his place is veteran striker Aduriz after his goal in Udine, but Paco Alcacer may partner him instead of Alvaro Morata. Debutant to the Spain national team Sergi Roberto is also in line to make his senior bow. Isco, Koke, David Silva and Paco Alcacer are all pushing for a start and the likes of Thiago, Mata, and San Jose could sit out.
