ROMA v JUVENTUS BETTING PREVIEW
Roma beat Milan 4-1 at San Siro last week, thus defending second place from Napoli's attack. The Giallorossi are in great form with eight wins in the last 10 matches, although they lost 3-1 to Lazio in their most recent home game. They currently stand 7 points behind the top with only 3 games to go, with Napoli right behind them with only a point difference. A win would also secure Champions League football for Roma. In terms of direct matches, Roma have lost only one of their last five Serie A home games against Juventus (W2 D2).
Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman is suspended while top-scorer Edin Dzeko will miss this crucial game due to a problem to his calf. Luciano Spalletti is expected to field Mohamed Salah in a false nine role, with Stephan El Shaarawy and Radja Nainggolan behind the former Chelsea player. Emerson and Bruno Peres are expected to play a wing backs while Federico Fazio, Kostas Manolas and Antonio Rudiger will play in the three man defense. Perotti and Grenier are major doubts.
Juventus are in pole position to win their 6th consecutive Serie A title, despite drawing their last two league matches - 1:1 in the Turin Derby and 2:2 against in-form Atalanta. The Bianconeri have progressed to the Champions League final, beating Monaco both away (0-2) and home (2-1) and are in line to win a historical treble. The "Old Lady" have a very busy week ahead. Following this game, they will face Lazio i nthe Coppa Italia final. Anyway, they are showing no signs of slowing down. Juventus were the better side in the last game between these sides, winning narrowly 1-0 in a fierce battle with an early goal from Gonzalo Higuain. Over the last six meetings between the two clubs, Juve have won three, drawn one and lost two.
The current champions are without Daniele Rugani, Marko Pjaca and Sami Khedira through injury, while Dani Alves could be rested ahead of a hectic schedule. Gonzalo Higuain will continue to spearhead the attack, while Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic are likely to start as offensive midfielder. In midfield, Claudio Marchisio is expected to replace Khedira, while the four man backline will be probably formed by Stephan Lichtsteiner, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Kwadwo Asamoah.
