One of the most eagerly anticipated events of the 2012 Olympics in London is the men’s 100m sprint. Bolt is not invincible though as fellow countryman Yohan Blake has shown that he can compete with the fastest man in the world. Bolt is still the world record holder at 9.58 seconds and also set a time of 9.79 seconds in a Diamond League event in June to solidify his place at the head of the market.
One thing about the current world record holder is that he is one of few sprinters that can get away with a poor start and he relies on the final 50 metres to win the race. Should he get a good start, he could be unbeatble.

Anyway, Bolt - a sensation at the Beijing Olympics with wins in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay - was beaten over the distance in the Jamaican Olympic trials by Yohan Blake, who ran a scorching 9.75 to take the crown.
Blake, winner of the 100m title at last year's World Championships after Bolt was disqualified for a false start, must now be seen as a legitimate challenger for the Olympic title.

Tyson Gay is another man who should not be written off as he also showed what he is capable of in trials, running the same time as the current World Record holder.

Other American sprinter Justin Gatlin is the 2004 Olympic Champion, however he missed the event four years ago due to a doping ban.

Gatlin is now fit and ready to compete again and he ran a time of 9.80 in the trials, which is the third fastest in the world this year.

Asafa Powell is the third leading Jamaican in the 100m betting market, though he has never quite fulfilled his potential on the biggest stage.

Other contenders are simply outsiders and, in our opinion, cannot compete for a medal.
