Inter Milan will be guests of Olympique de Marseille in a match of the Champions League last 16 first-leg. The Italians are not in good form recently. The absence of the France international, who arrived at the Stade Velodrome from Nice in the summer of 2010, is a massive blow for Marseille given he is the club's top scorer this season. Andre Ayew will be back in the side after an impressive African nations Cup with Ghana. The introduction of Andre Ayew, could allow Deschamps to shuffle the tactics board and revert to a standard 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 type formation.

Inter Milan were beaten 3-0 at home to Bologna on Friday evening, bringing their record in the last six matches to played 6 lost 5 drew 1. The 2009-10 Champions League winners have lost their last 3 league matches against Roma, Novara and Bologna after their home 4-4 draw against Palermo.

Inter has stopped scoring (0 goals in last 3 games)and their defense has been terrible (13 goals allowed in their last 5 games). They are currently sitting 6th in the league, struggling to qualify for next year’s Champions League and out of the Italian cup as well.

With the likes of Wesley Sneijder, Diego Forlan and Diego Milito (he's doubtul because of the flu), Inter undoubtedly possess the quality on paper to inflict yet another last 16 defeat upon the French outfit. But many will remember how tough and resistant Marseille were last season against Manchester United and their exit, in the end, only came down to a solitary goal at Old Trafford after holding Alex Ferguson’s side well at Stade Velodrome.
