MANCHESTER CITY vs FC PORTO: MATCH PREVIEWThe English Premier League side fell behind in Portugal, but an Alvaro Pereira own goal and a late strike from Sergio Aguero turned things around for Roberto Mancini’s men. A brilliant first-half showing capped off by a Silvestre Varela goal did put Porto on their way to a first-leg lead, but Vitor Pereira's outfit lost their way in the second half and now they have the unenviable task of defeating the Citizens at home.
Both clubs were in the Champions League at the start of the season but finished third in their groups, despite being expected to reach the latter stages and both very much in with a chance of their domestic league titles.
Man City is holding first place in Premiership after 25 rounds and this might be their first title since 1968. They won all 12 matches on the home ground and that ranks them the 1th team in home performance in the English Premier League. Mancini will make changes for the second leg on Wednesday as he keeps one eye on the Premier League clash with Blackburn three days later.
Porto were 3-1 winners away at Vitoria in the Portuguese league last Saturday with goals from Marc Janko, Fernando and Varela and are currently in 2nd place, two points behind Benfica. They played 8 games away in domestic league and has 4 wins, 3 draws and 1 lost match.

Porto have confirmed on their official website that Danilo suffered ligament damage to his left knee. The Brazil international had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher during the first half after being involved in a challenge with Yaya Toure. Fullback Alvaro Pereira is suspended and, furthermore, Marc Janko and Lucho Gonzalez are unable to play for Porto. Kleber is a major doubt due to illness and Emidio Rafael is out with a long-term injury.
As for Citizens, Roberto Mancini has a fully fit and available squad to him. The Blues are now back up to a first team squad of 22 with the Toure brothers back from African Nations Cup duty and Mario Balotelli returning from his four-match ban. The only absentee is Owen Hargreaves, still struggling to find his fitness. And that meant Adam Johnson and James Milner, who were forced to watch the first leg in Portugal from the stand, are in line for a recall on Wednesday.
